Mit The Tuesday Night Song Sessions präsentiert Parterre drei bis vier Songwriter – zusammen auf der Bühne! Das “songwriters in the round“ Konzertformat erlaubt Künstlern und Zuschauern, zusammen einen gemütlichen Abend in Living-Room-Ambiente zu verbringen. Die Künstler hören einander zu, erzählen ihre Geschichten und nutzen den lockeren Rahmen für spontanen Austausch. Und die Zuschauer geniessen die ständige Abwechslung von Sounds und Stilen, da kein Künstler mehr als ein Lied pro Runde spielt. Grossmutters Lampe inklusive.

As December's days grow darker and colder, we revive our Tuesday Night Song Sessions for an evening. Inspired by the concert format of songerwriters „in the round“, these evenings allow artists and audience to share a cosy, casual and coversational „living room“ ambience.
Artists can listen to one another, share their stories, and even add a few brushstrokes of their instruments or vocals to each other’s songs if they wish. The audience enjoys continually shifting sounds and styles as no artist sings more than a single song at a time. It’s nobody’s concert and everybody’s concert. Grandmother lamp included.
And what could suit the arrival of Winter more than these three she-talents we've handpicked for you: Basel's own Jennifer Jans (Bleu Roi), the Liestal-based Canadian Andrea Wellard, and - fresh in from the U.S. on her European Tour - Eliza Rickman. Three gifted, beautiful women, and thirty fingers on keys (...as well as a few other instruments).

About the artists:
JENNIFER JANS (Bleu Roi):
A tireless contributor to the flourishing of music in Basel/Switzerland, and supporting extraordinary art from across the globe, she is the force behind Mitten in der Woche at the Kuppel, and forms the pulse of BScene and B-Sides.
We're honoured to welcome Jennifer to the Parterre stage, when she'll take a moment from supporting other artists' work, to share her own project with us (which she took for a walk to New York and back).
ELIZA RICKMAN:
The American songstress will be stopping in on her European tour after she came highly recommended to us both from Basel and beyond. "Her presence on stage - whether she plays a toy piano or a grand piano - is an enveloping, soft darkness, impossible to ignore." “Brilliant”, it is said. In the 3 years between her first and freshly released second album, Rickman notes she has added autoharp to her repertoire, fought illness and heartbreak (and won), and turned 30.
We expect “arresting” with a dash of quirk...
ANDREA WELLARD:
The award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist, now based in Basel-Land, continues to win over European and North American audiences with her purity of voice and authentic stage presence.
The past two years have seen Andrea sign with ZeitART Records, record and release her third album, and take it on tour – all while becoming a new mother.
She’s also a gifted photographer.
