The Intergalactic Trans-Dimensional Space Whale Whailers Kollektiv (TITSWWK) is a Basel-based group of five that emerged in 2012 around the Canadian singer Sarah Reid. Though coming from a strong jazz background, their music can hardly be defined as wholly “Jazz”. If someone were to ask the Whailers to describe their sound in two words, the answer would be “not possible”. It is said that if someone cannot explain a thing briefly, it is because they do not truly understand what they are talking about. This is a trait that the Space Whale Whailers embrace with excitement as they journey together through the dimensions of sound and experiment, making mouth noises and fancy-tool-racket, in the hopes of one day attracting the deep horn bellow of the Great Cosmic Whale.
