1965 waren sie die jüngste Beat-Band der Schweiz. Die Zeiten im Union Kino, Atlantis, Greifen, Brandis und Oasis bleiben unvergessen. The Countdowns waren 1967 die erste Schweizer Band, die in London Schallplattenaufnahmen machte.
Heute, 54 Jahre später, sind The Countdowns eine der ältesten Rockbands der Schweiz und überzeugen mehr denn je! Neben Bandgründer Claude Pfau und Urgestein Bernie Spiess etabliert sich inzwischen mit Linda Spiess, Andreas Lucco-Spiess und Céline Rickli-Pfau die zweite Generation, sodass der Sound der Band jung und frech bleibt. Neu dabei sind auch Bass-Aficionado Giulio Pepe und Drummer-Enthusiast Roger Eng, die es beide voll drauf haben.

Wer ein Konzert mit vielen bekannten Hits von den Beatles, Beach Boys, Stones, Pink Floyd bis hin zu The Who erleben möchte, kommt bei The Countdowns wirklich voll auf die Rechnung.

In 1965, they were the youngest beat band of Switzerland. Those times in clubs like cinema Union, Atlantis, Greifen, Brandis and Oasis remain unforgettable. The Countdowns were the first Swiss rock group to record in London in 1967.
Today, 54 years later, The Countdowns are among the oldest rock troupe in Switzerland – and more convincing than ever! Next to the founder Claude Pfau and veteran Bernie Spiess, the second generation - Linda Spiess, Andreas Lucco-Spiess and Céline Rickli-Pfau – takes their place in the ensemble to keep the sound fresh and peppy. The bass aficionado Giulio Pepe and the drums enthusiast Roger Eng recently joined the band.
